Rabbi Jeff serves as Associate Rabbi of Temple Israel in Memphis, TN, one of the largest and most historic congregations in the South. He received his rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College in New York City, May 2021. As a student, Jeff served congregations in Juneau, AK, and Rye, NY. Prior to beginning his rabbinical studies, Jeff worked in Memphis, TN as a Senior Analyst at Metronome Partners, where he advised companies on mergers & acquisitions. Previously, Jeff worked as VP of Strategic Initiatives for a green tech startup, helping to lead the company’s first institutional capital raise of $6 million. Jeff co-founded the TI Fellowship, a summer program in Memphis, TN that provided Jewish students with internships, professional development, and Jewish communal engagement. The TI Fellowship was recognized by Slingshot as one of the most innovative Jewish programs in the U.S. and has become a model for attracting and retaining millennials for Jewish communities in medium-sized cities. Jeff graduated cum laude from WashU in St. Louis with a B.A. in economics and environmental studies.
In his free time, Jeff likes to ski, hike, rock climb, fish, and travel with his family. Jeff and his wife Rachael Brill are proud parents to their daughter Shoshie, their goldendoodle, Abbey Road, and their cat Lil.
